The RoleWe are seeking a Logistics Operations Manager to join our Games Services and Workforce team. This role will lead the planning and delivery of logistics operations across the Games, including warehousing, distribution, and materials planning. You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive operations plan, procuring and managing a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider, overseeing the Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFandE) supplier, and ensuring efficient, sustainable, and safe delivery of services across all competition and non-competition venues. Responsibilities
Lead the planning and delivery of all logistics operations for Glasgow 2026, including warehousing, distribution, asset management, and post-Games dissolution.
Collaborate with a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider and FFandE supplier to ensure the right equipment is at the right time at every venue.
Develop and manage a comprehensive operations plan that is safe, sustainable, and within budget.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, manual handling practices, and accurate inventory control and reporting.
Coordinate logistics across competition and non-competition venues and support stakeholders’ needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Significant experience in event logistics, operations support, or supply chain management at a senior level.
Proven track record in designing and delivering end-to-end logistics and warehousing solutions.
Strong experience in procurement, tendering, and evaluating supplier proposals; ability to negotiate and manage contracts.
Excellent leadership and the ability to manage complex workloads in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Highly organized with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, stock systems, and delivery tracking tools.
Knowledge of supply chain operations, health and safety, manual handling; public sector procurement knowledge is valuable.
Experience in international multi-sport event logistics, venue-based operations, or multi-site logistics is highly regarded.
A higher education qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous.
