Logistics Manager - Congleton
On behalf of our client, a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation, we are seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Planning & Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing all site logistics activities, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and exceptional service delivery to internal stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all logistics operations including goods-in, goods-out, warehousing, and shipping activities
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient material flow across the site
- Deliver operational excellence through standardised processes and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with departmental objectives
- Manage warehouse operations, ensuring optimal layout, stock accuracy, and efficient storage solutions
- Oversee import/export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, Export Control, and ITAR (where applicable)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers
- Monitor and report on key KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost, and productivity
- Implement robust stock control processes including cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary logistics and stores team
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with all site standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field
- Proven experience in a logistics management role within an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of inventory management, stock control processes, and warehouse optimisation
- Experience using ERP systems for data management and reporting
- Strong expertise across goods-in, goods-out, warehousing, shipping, and internal material movement
- Knowledge of Export Control and ITAR compliance requirements
- Strong analytical capability with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience managing KPIs, performance metrics, and operational reporting
