Logistics ManagerWarwickshire £70,000 to £80,000 + Bonus + BenefitsRole ProfileA leading horticultural business is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of its UK transport operation.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a senior role with real autonomy. You will manage the movement of imported products through a multi site UK network, ensuring delicate, time sensitive stock reaches major garden centres, retailers and supermarkets safely, efficiently and on time.This is a genuine opportunity to shape the role around your strengths. Alongside leading day to day transport planning and haulier relationships, you will identify ways to improve the operating model, develop additional revenue opportunities during quieter periods and help create a more commercially sustainable year round operation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all transport planning and route optimisation across the UK networkManage relationships with a small number of external hauliers and local delivery vehiclesEnsure the safe, efficient and cost effective distribution of fragile horticultural productsDevelop routes and opportunities to increase distribution into IrelandResponsible for overseeing the import of finished goods into the UKTake ownership of transport performance, service levels, costs and carrier accountabilityReview how unused warehouse and greenhouse capacity can generate income during quieter trading periodsIdentify opportunities to improve the business model and ..... full job details .....
