Logistics and Freight Coordinator

We are working with a successful and growing wholesale and distribution business based in Hemel Hempstead to recruit a Logistics and Freight Coordinator.This is a newly created role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take real ownership of freight, transport and shipping activity across the business.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will become the main point of contact for UK and international shipments, freight providers, courier relationships and transport cost management.This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional who enjoys variety, responsibility and the chance to make a visible impact in a growing SME environment.Key Responsibilities Manage UK and international shipping activity. Coordinate export shipments and container movements. Obtain, compare and negotiate freight quotations. Build and maintain relationships with carriers, couriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers. Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delivery issues. Manage transport bookings and shipping schedules. Review supplier performance and benchmark logistics costs. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transport spend. Produce logistics reports and operational updates. Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure goods are moved efficiently and on time.
