Literacy Subject Lead - SEN SchoolLocation: Uxbridge, West LondonSalary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance + TLR2Contract: PermanentAge Range: 7-19 yearsReports to: Associate Principal / PrincipalWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Literacy Subject Lead to join a specialist SEN school in Uxbridge, supporting pupils aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs, including complex learning needs.This is a teaching and responsibility post, combining high-quality classroom teaching with strategic leadership of Literacy and Communication across the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in raising standards, developing staff practice and ensuring pupils receive an engaging, appropriately differentiated literacy curriculum.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the Literacy curriculum across the school, ensuring statutory requirements are met.Monitor standards, teaching and learning, and pupil progress, identifying and implementing actions to raise achievement.Oversee long-, medium- and short-term planning and ensure individual pupil planning is effectively implemented.Lead the development of Literacy and Communication across the school, promoting high-quality practice and innovative approaches.Work closely with Speech and Language Therapists to develop and implement a whole-school communication strategy.Lead the analysis of assessment data and ensure assessment systems effectively support pupil progress.Prepare and review the Literacy Subject Development Plan, ..... full job details .....
