Linux Systems Engineer | 6 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid, Glasgow, 3 days pw| Starting ASAP Day Rate: £550About the Role:Join a team of skilled and experienced technologists tasked with maintaining and enhancing our large scale, globally deployed RedHat Linux-based platform.Develop and maintain components on a global level, working with operational counterparts and customers to prioritize and execute on enhancements, extensions and remediation in these critical components of our infrastructure.Use declarative configuration-as-code principles and extensive automation across a mixture of strategic engineering and design projects.Add features, manage, and tune configuration, and perform deep-level troubleshooting of the existing Linux platform management systems and Linux O/S configuration and builds.Input to the design and implementation of new solutions to support the fast-paced, dynamic needs of the business.Essential Skills andamp; Experience:Expert knowledge of Linux, including familiarity with UNIX system calls, and low-level O/S and network protocols.Experience of using any modern config management system (examples such as Salt Stack, Puppet, or Chef) to automate management of a large-scale Linux deployment.Ability to write robust, maintainable code in PythonEffective troubleshooting skills across hardware, O/S, network, and storage.Knowledge and experience of Linux patching processes, especially automation of testing and deploymentAbility to convey complex ..... full job details .....
