Linux Automation Engineer

Linux Automation Engineer 12 month contract - inside IR35 We are seeking an experienced Linux Automation Engineer to join a critical enterprise platform team. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting and enhancing a large-scale Linux infrastructure, maintaining existing automation frameworks, and driving improvements across production environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring platform stability, operational excellence, and the ongoing evolution of automation and platform engineering capabilities. Key Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing automation solutions developed using Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, and related technologies. Support and administer Linux-based production environments, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and reliability. Design, develop, and optimise automation workflows to improve operational efficiency and minimise manual intervention. Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and network-related issues across enterprise-scale environments. Support CI/CD pipelines and version control processes to enable consistent and repeatable software builds and deployments. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams to manage incidents, implement solutions, and drive continuous service improvement.
