A vacancy has arisen within the Manufacturing Department for a Line Manager with an engineering background based in Barnsley. You will join our client on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.

The Line Manager role:
Reporting directly to the Group Engineering Manager on strategic issues and day to day operational issues. You will be an apprentice trained engineer with excellent organisational skills, be a logistical, pragmatic, self-motivated person and be willing to work as part of a dynamic team. Knowledge of the manufacturing industry would be an advantage, although full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
The shift pattern for this position will be permanent 2pm – 10pm Shift.
The key responsibilities of their Line Manager will include:
- Compliance with all environmental policies, ISO 9000,
- Staff disciplinary and mentoring,
- Safe systems of work,
- Development of training matrix to ensure skill grades and succession planning within the department, maintain Staff Training Records and a good level of housekeeping.
- Day to day management of labour to ensure production targets are met including the re-distribution of labour to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Management of staff.
- Adhere to the company’s defined quality procedures.
- Skills training to give improved flexibility across all areas of the business, including the maintenance of training records for all staff.
- Material stock rotation in line with best working practices.
- Logistical integration of bought out parts into the process to ensure any secondary processes are completed in line with production requirements.
- Co-ordination of the manufacturing process to ensure planned maintenance programs are adhered to and managed in-line with the company’s mainsaver maintenance program.
