Lift Technician (Testing & Fault Finding)

About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Lift Technician to join a leading organisation within the lift industry. This is a senior, technically focused role where you will play a key part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of lift systems across a varied portfolio.
You''ll act as a subject matter expert, supporting engineers in the field, resolving complex issues, and commissioning new installations to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service, Fault Finding & Technical Support
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex lift faults, providing advanced diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Lead root cause analysis on recurring or high-level technical issues, implementing long-term solutions
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-site support to Service Engineers and apprentices
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance, particularly on complex or high-risk sites
- Work proactively to reduce call-back rates and improve overall equipment reliability
- Engage with customers as a senior technical representative, offering clear communication and reassurance
- Accurately document all work, supporting compliance, billing accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Participate in an on-call rota and respond to emergency situations when required
- Commission new lift systems in line with industry standards and EN81 regulations
- Conduct full functional and safety testing prior to handover
- Produce detailed snagging reports and ensure all corrective actions are completed
- Attend witness testing and liaise with consultants and project stakeholders
- Provide feedback to installation teams to improve quality and efficiency
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 4 in Lift Testing, Fault Finding, or a related technical discipline
- Solid experience within the Lift industry.
- Proven experience in advanced fault finding and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of lift systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in using digital diagnostic and reporting tools
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain technical issues to a range of audiences
