Library Porter Driver andndash; Bristol
Fixed Term Contract until Monday 13th July 2026

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and customer-focused Library Porter Driver to support the day-to-day operations of Bristolandrsquo;s Library Service. This is a varied, hands-on role involving driving, building support, customer assistance, maintenance and security duties across library sites.

Pay Rate:
andpound;13.90 - andpound;16.97 per hour (DOE)

Key responsibilities include:

• Transporting library materials safely between locations

• Loading and unloading vehicles in line with health andamp; safety requirements

• Carrying out vehicle safety checks

• Assisting with building security and safety procedures

• Supporting library visitors and responding to enquiries

• Setting up and clearing down events, displays and exhibitions

• Completing minor maintenance and cleaning duties

• Acting appropriately during emergencies and evacuations

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a driver with a full UK driving licence

• Ideally hold a C1 licence (a van can be hired if the successful candidate does not hold C1)

• Be comfortable with manual handling and physical duties

• Have good communication and customer service skills

• Be reliable, proactive and able to work independently

• Be flexible and adaptable within a busy environment

Hours/Shifts:

• Mondays and Tuesdays

• 7:30am andndash; 4:00pm

Additional Information:

• Standard DBS required

• Fixed term contract until Monday 13th July 2026

• Some flexibility may be required to meet service needs
