Part-Time Librarian / Library AssistantTemporary Wednesday-Friday, 12pm-6pm 4th September - 16th October 2026We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Librarian / Library Assistant to join a busy school library on a temporary basis until the October half term.This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the library, assisting students with research and reading and ensuring a welcoming, organised environment. You will work alongside another member of the library team for part of the day before taking responsibility for supervising the library during the afternoon.Key responsibilities include:Supervising students within the library, including after-school study periodsAssisting students and staff with enquiries, research and library resourcesIssuing, returning and shelving books and other resourcesCataloguing and processing new resourcesCreating and maintaining displays and noticeboardsSupporting the Head Librarian with the general running of the libraryMaintaining stationery stocks and completing general administrative dutiesEnsuring appropriate standards of behaviour and a safe, welcoming library environmentThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience within a library, school, education or similar environmentStrong communication and organisational skillsConfidence working independently and supervising studentsGood IT skills, including Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365A friendly, approachable and professional mannerThe ability to start at short notice and ..... full job details .....
