Drive vehicles legally and safely, using tachographs as required by transport legislation. Assess driving conditions regularly, especially in severe weather, to ensure public and employee safety. Operate and monitor on-board systems (e.g. weighing, telematics, safety devices) according to procedures. Report accidents, breakdowns, and near misses promptly, including any damage, and complete necessary documentation. Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance, including power mechanisms and weekly weighbridge/sump cleaning, using PPE. Check and maintain fuel, oil, and water levels at the start and end of each shift. Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and emptied before parking, or report remaining waste. Deposit waste and recyclables at designated facilities, using the weighbridge when needed.
