Lewisham - Independent Reviewing Officer

Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Looked After Children Service at Lewisham Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Chair statutory reviews of Looked After Children in accordance with legislation and statutory guidance.
* Monitor the progress of care plans and ensure plans are progressing appropriately.
* Provide independent oversight and professional challenge to ensure children''s needs, wishes, and best interests remain central to care planning.
* Raise quality assurance and good practice alerts where appropriate.
* Contribute to the development of practice in relation to Looked After Children.
* Promote effective partnership working with children, families, carers, Social Workers, and partner agencies.
* Work within the principles of anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice.
* Work within Family Led Practice principles, ensuring children and families remain the respected focus of work.
* Maintain accurate records relating to reviews, decisions, and care planning.
* Travel to children''s placements as required.

Working Pattern
1 day in the office, 4 days working from home, with travel to children''s placements.

Pay Rate
-43.35 p/h Umbrella

Essential Requirements
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent.
* Social Work England Registration.
* Significant experience within Children''s Social Care and Looked After Children services.
* Previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer / Reviewing Officer.
* Strong knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to Looked After Children and care planning.
* Strong chairing, professional challenge, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Understanding of anti-racist, anti-discriminatory, and Family Led Practice.
