Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in a welcoming and inclusive school environment?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join schools across Sunderland from September 2026. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children''s learning, working collaboratively with teaching staff, and making a meaningful impact on pupils'' educational journeys.

We are looking for individuals who are patient, caring, and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide high-quality support to pupils of all abilities.

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your role will be instrumental in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is a part-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, and applicants must be available to work 5 days per week.

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group intervention support
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and learning resources
• Support pupils with a range of learning abilities, including those with additional needs
• Encourage confidence, independence, and active participation in learning
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom culture
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
• Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent – Essential
• Experience supporting children within a school or educational setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Ability to motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their best
• Excellent teamwork and organisational skills
• Professional, reliable, and committed attitude
• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
• Available to work 5 days per week
