We are seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated and proactive Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working with primary-aged children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This rewarding role involves providing high-quality classroom support alongside assisting pupils with their personal care needs. We are looking for an individual who is patient, nurturing and committed to helping every child develop academically, socially and emotionally within a safe and inclusive environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.

  • Assist pupils with personal care, ensuring dignity, respect and independence are promoted at all times.

  • Support pupils to access learning activities across the primary curriculum.

  • Implement individual education, behaviour and care plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.

  • Foster pupils'' communication, independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.

  • Help create a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes and educational visits where required.

  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Has experience of supporting primary-aged children with Special Educational Needs.

  • Is confident and willing to provide personal care in a sensitive, respectful and professional manner.

  • Is nurturing, compassionate and committed to meeting the individual needs of every child.

  • Is proactive, flexible and able to use their initiative.

  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Can build trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations.

  • Remains calm, patient and positive in a variety of situations.

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
