Salary: -21,012 - -22,903 (pro rata, depending on experience)

Monarch Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive special education school in Nailsea, part of a well-established Multi Academy Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join a supportive team, working with children and young people who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff to help create a positive, nurturing learning environment that enables every child to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Supporting with personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND or SEMH settings
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is proactive and able to use initiative
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Holds a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential)
