Our client is recognised as one of the UK’s leading law firms and, due twith n impecable reputation and excellent working culture. They are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary to cover a 12 month maternity leave.
The Legal Secretary will provide a vital service supporting the lawyers in their Finance & Restructuring & Insolvency team. This is a stand-alone role supporting a team of 3 Partners and 8 legal professionals with a broad range of secretarial, administrative and legal-process tasks. Strong IT proficiency is required as involvement with the billing process and other key IT systems is an integral part of the role.
Responsibilities: -
- Lead, manage and/or support the billing process/cycle using a practice management system, including raising and processing invoices
- Using the New Business Introduction system to carry out conflict searches and to open new matters
- Using a client relationship software to record business development and marketing activity
- Assist in answering telephone calls promptly at all times
- Act as a point of contact for clients in lawyers’ absence, as required
- Preparing client engagement letters and dealing with signature of such letters
- Provide a comprehensive and timely word processing service for the creation and amendment of documents using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proof-reading legal documents
- Manage emails and carry out management of e-post and correspondence
- File management
- Diary management
- Arrange internal and external meetings, liaising with reception as required
- Organise and support all travel arrangements
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working as a Legal Secretary or PA in a professional services environment along with strong IT skills including Word, Outlook & Excel. You will have a fast and accurate typing speed of at least 50wpm and the ability to quickly pick up new software.
