As a court representative you will work to safeguard the organisation and support customers to feel safe, informed and supported through the legal process. You will lead on preparation and represent Orbit in court for possession, injunctions and enforcement actions relating to rent arrears, tenancy breaches, ASB and access issues.What you’ll bring
Essential skillsIn-depth understanding of housing law, Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols, and grounds for possession and injunctions.Strong case management experience in both income recovery and tenancy enforcement, including ASB and breach cases.Confidence and professionalism representing in court (County Court and High Court) with or without legal counsel.Ability to assess complex cases involving vulnerabilities, legal defences, and potential disrepair or counter claims.High emotional intelligence and communication skills - able to influence, empathise and de-escalate in high-pressure situations.Proven ability to build partnerships across teams and agencies, maintaining Orbit’s reputation as a fair and ethical landlord.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.Experience writing legal documentation: witness statements, court summaries, and case evidence.Commitment to Orbit’s core values and customer promises: safety, trust, support and respect.Must be willing and able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.Previous experience leading tenancy enforcement initiatives, community safety programmes or multi-agency forums.Knowledge of welfare reform and income maximisation approaches.Legal qualification or housing-related accreditation.Why Orbit?
