Overview
Apex is seeking a qualified lawyer with custody, CASS and fund administration/asset management experience. The candidate will have experience in the financial services sector and in negotiating a variety of fund and other commercial agreements, including custody agreements, depositary agreements, third party service provider agreements, prospectuses, supplements, etc.Responsibilities
Supporting the UK based custody and administration businessesMaintaining service line templates, updating as necessary for changes in regulation and/or case lawReviewing and negotiating custody agreements and service agreements, side letters, client investor application forms, powers of attorney, non-disclosure agreements and deal documentationReviewing commercial agreements such as supplier and third-party services agreementsManaging ad-hoc legal queries from clients and intermediaries such as investment managers and sub-custodiansLiaising with external counsel when assistance/advice from them is requiredProviding ad-hoc legal advice to the wider businessQualifications
Qualified lawyer with 1-3 years post qualification experience, with demonstrable UK/EU regulatory experienceExperience working in a reputable and recognised financial services practice or in-house legal department of a custody bank or fund administratorExperience of working across FCA and EU regulationsExperience of funds, fund documentation and asset management termsExperience with nominee structures would be advantageousSelf-motivated and proactive with a mindset for continuous improvementSense of urgency, high energy and driveContributor to team workingAttention to detail and an ability to work to deadlinesConfidence and subject matter knowledge with an inquisitive mind to understand regulations and the practical options and limits thereofExcellent organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and strong communication with clients and senior managementWhat you will get in return
