Legal Cashier

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary: £15.38 - £18.00

Working Hours: 9.00 - 17.00, Monday to Friday (1 hour lunch)

Job Type: Temporary Contract

We are looking for a commited and experienced Legal Cashier to work for a law firm based in St Albans to manage the day to day financial running of the firm. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations.
• Supervise banking functions including bank reconciliations.
• Process client and office accounting transactions including postings.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
• Supervise and assist in the sending money via electronic transfer.
• Control designated client deposit accounts including monthly reconciliations.
• Manage all third party fees.
• Raise invoices and manage debtors.
• Manage supplier invoices and payments.
• Deal with any accounts/invoice queries from team members and/or clients.
• Assist with the annual professional indemnity insurance & CQS renewal processes.

About You:

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
• Sound knowledge of SAR and legal accounting practices.
• Competent in using legal accounting software (Leap & Xero).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (ILFM, AAT, ACCA) would be advantageous.
• Computer literacy.
