Overview
We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Civil Litigation department. At Co-op Legal Services, our aim is to offer accessible legal advice and support without the jargon. Our customers rate us too, and we strive to consistently provide excellent customer service at a time when people are often at their most vulnerable. In this role, you''ll work on a wide variety of both pre-litigated and litigated claims. We''ll look to you to support the teams in handling their cases and be comfortable liaising with a variety of internal colleagues, along with external partners too. It''s a big job with a lot of responsibility. What you’ll doAssist and support in the efficient running of the Civil Litigation department
Make initial contact with new clients through incoming web forms and allocate to the right team
Open and close files, apply for records and review documents
Listen to client recordings and accurately transcribe
Work flexibly across the department, supporting across various teams and picking up ad hoc work where required
Prepare case bundles, with all system notes and evidence
Update the case management system and maintain spreadsheets
Build relationships with internal colleagues and external parties
Assist in collecting management information
QualificationsPrevious legal experience or experience in professional services
Used a legal case management system
The ability to organise and prioritise work to meet our service level agreements (SLAs)
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple pieces of work and have good time management skills
Clear and confident communication skills; you can speak appropriately to the right audience and have an excellent telephone manner
