Lecturer – Inclusive Learning (ASD and Behaviours of Concern)

Overview
Here at Merton College, we are seeking a Lecturer to provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities. You’ll act as a Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme and take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation. You’ll take part in curriculum planning and product development as required and deliver and imbed Math’s and English to SEND to deliver the College’s strategic objectives.Responsibilities
Act as Course Leader and take responsibility for the study programme of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties.Delivers and embeds Maths and English to SEND to deliver the College’s strategic objectives.Take part in curriculum planning and product development as required.Take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation.Provide tutorial and pastoral care for learners and monitor work experience activities.Demonstrate ability to manage students with challenging behaviour and communicate at a level appropriate to learners with different learning abilities.Qualifications and Experience
Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards).Ideally hold a relevant professional qualification and have experience of working with and understanding the needs of SEND.Aware of current curriculum changes and implications for SEND learning strategies and reforms.Knowledge and understanding of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education and experience in curriculum development to meet changing demands of the Further Education Sector.Evidence of providing effective student support.Experience of working with external agencies and assessment and/or IV practices for a range of specialist accreditation.Ability to use information technology and assistive technology to teaching and learning strategies.Desirable and Additional Information
