Lecturer - Inclusive Learning (ASD and Behaviours of Concern)
Here at Merton College, we are seeking a Lecturer to provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities. You ll act as a Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme and take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation. You ll take part in curriculum planning and product development as required and deliver and imbed Math s and English to SEND to deliver the College s strategic objectives. As our Lecturer, you ll hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), ideally hold a relevant professional qualification and have experience of working with and understanding the needs of SEND. Able to work as part of a team, you ll be aware of the current curriculum changes and the implications for SEND learning strategies and reforms. With knowledge and understanding of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education and the implications that this has for delivery and promotion of learning, you ll have experience of curriculum development to meet the changing demands of the Further Education Sector, with evidence of providing effective student support. As an experienced teacher, you ll be able to manage students with challenging behaviour and demonstrate the ability to teach and to communicate at a level appropriate to the students and in a way that recognises their different learning abilities.
