Permanent, Part Time (0.6)21.6 hours per week over 52 weeks a year.The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Health and Social Care Lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.You’ll play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development and you’ll develop, initiate, promote and sustain innovative and quality improvement intervention strategies. Selecting appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assessing the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and providing constructive feedback to students, you’ll seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery as well as obtaining and analysing feedback.Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.Support curriculum development with employer engagement and learner skills development; initiate and sustain innovative quality improvement strategies.Select appropriate assessment methods and criteria; assess student work and progress against criteria and provide constructive feedback.Reflect on teaching design and delivery and analyse feedback to improve performance.Engage with current frameworks for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance; work collaboratively across disciplines.Maintain strong communication skills (verbal and written) and meet deadlines set by validating bodies.Qualifications
Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).Relevant degree in Health and Social Care.Teaching experience in Health and Social Care in an FE College.Successful record of tutoring, supporting learners, target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress; evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery.Strong knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance; interdisciplinary skills.Advanced computer literacy and general office software management skills.Effective communicator, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Benefits
