Learning Support Assistant

We are a welcoming special school in the Scunthorpe area supporting children and young people aged 3-19 with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Complex Needs. We provide a caring, structured environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their very best.The Role From January 2026 we are looking for caring and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our team. You will support students in class, with personal care where needed, and during activities, helping them to learn, communicate, and feel safe and happy.Day-to-day you willWork alongside teachers and therapists to support individual students and small groupsHelp with personal care, mobility, feeding and sensory needs as requiredUse communication tools such as PECS, Makaton or AAC devices (full training given)Follow behaviour support plans and use positive, calm approachesJoin in with therapy sessions, play, and off-site activitiesWe are looking for people whoAre patient, kind and reliableEnjoy working with children and young people with special needsCan stay calm in challenging momentsHave good English and basic maths skillsExperience welcomed fromSchool settingsResidential children''s care homesSupported living or respite services for children/young peopleVolunteering or family experience(No previous school experience required - we provide all training.)What we offerFull training (including Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, moving and handling, autism awareness etc.)A friendly and supportive staff ..... full job details .....
