Role: 1:1 Learning Support AssistantLocation: FarnboroughSetting: SEMH and SEN Specialist School (Ages 4-16)Pay: £14.25 per hourA specialist school in Farnborough is seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting supports children aged 10-16 with Social, emotional and Mental Health needs which can sometimes be characterised as challenging behaviour or dysregulation. On the same school site, they also have their main provision for children 4-16 with Special Educational Needs such as Learning Difficulties and Autism.The successful candidate will provide consistent, individualised support to help the pupil manage emotions, remain engaged with learning, and develop confidence within the classroom. The school provides a structured and supportive environment, with small classes (around six pupils) and strong staff support.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 classroom support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needsSupport the pupil''s emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement with learningWork collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategiesHelp maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environmentThe Ideal CandidatePrevious experience working with children in a school or educational settingA calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needsStrong communication and relationship-building skillsExperience with SEMH or SEN is ..... full job details .....
