Learning Support Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse – Early Years / Primary
Location: West Midlands – B1 1AA
Position: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse to join a friendly Early Years / Primary setting in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will support children within the Early Years and/or Primary setting, helping to create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every child can learn, develop and thrive.
You will work closely with teachers and nursery practitioners to provide high-quality support through both structured learning and play-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children across Early Years and/or Primary age groups
- Assist with delivering engaging learning and play-based activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Support children’s social, emotional and educational development
- Help maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure high standards of care and education
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3 or equivalent) – preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or primary setting
- A caring, patient and positive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Desirable
- Experience within EYFS
- Experience supporting children with additional learning needs
