Supply Desk are proud to be working with a large, inclusive, and nurturing SEND School in Sittingbourne who support students of secondary age with SEMH needs. They are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 on a full-time, long-term role running until July 2026. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to become a key part of a supportive team committed to helping every student thrive.
Your Role Will Involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH difficulties
- Helping students regulate emotions, build resilience, and engage positively with learning
- Supporting the delivery of targeted interventions to promote both academic and emotional development
- Collaborating with the class teacher and SENDCo to create a stable and structured learning environment
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping children build healthy relationships with peers and adults
- Reporting on progress and adapting support strategies in response to studentsandrsquo; needs
- Following the school''s safeguarding procedures at all times
Weandrsquo;re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEMH or other additional needs (in primary or secondary settings)
- Remains calm under pressure and demonstrates patience and empathy when working with pupils facing emotional challenges
- Is confident implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Has good communication skills and can work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals
- Holds a current enhanced DBS or is willing to apply for one
- Is committed to a long-term role and eager to develop their skills further
