The Support Staff position at our secondary school in Slough involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting both students and teachers. You will actively contribute to the learning process by collaborating with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across multiple subjects. Your role includes providing personalised support to students, especially those with complex learning difficulties, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance and attention needed for their academic progress. This involves leading one-on-one sessions and facilitating small group activities, fostering an environment where every student feels supported, confident, and empowered to succeed.
About the Role:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment within the school and during extracurricular activities
- Adhere to school policies and procedures as outlined in official documentation and directed by the Headteacher
- Serve as a positive ambassador for the school within the wider community
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information encountered during duties
- Comply fully with the schoolandrsquo;s Equal Opportunities policy
- Follow the schoolandrsquo;s Health and Safety policy, ensuring proper procedures are implemented in the event of accidents or incidents
- Monitor and manage student behaviour throughout the school day, including lunch and break times (or as hours permit), in accordance with school policies and individual behaviour management plans
The ideal candidate will:
- Previous experience as Support Staff or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable
- Dedicated to bringing creativity and energy into the classroom environment
- Skilled at challenging, motivating, and inspiring young learners
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage priorities efficiently
