We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Slough starting in September 2025. This full-time role is perfect for someone passionate about education and committed to helping young people thrive in the classroom.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teaching staff to support the delivery of engaging lessons and assist students across a range of subjects. Although this is not a specialist SEN position, you will play a key role in helping students stay focused, participate confidently, and reach their full academic potential.
About the Role:
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance the delivery of lessons and learning activities.
- Provide in-class support to help students stay focused and fully access the curriculum.
- Offer encouragement and targeted assistance to students needing extra help or confidence.
- Assist pupils during lessons, class transitions, and break times to ensure continuity and support.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Actively engage in school life, including participation in extracurricular activities and events.
The ideal candidate will:
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A sincere interest in promoting student development and well-being.
- Qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work are beneficial, though not required.
