Job Title: SEND Learning Support AssistantLocation: SouthamptonContract: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary (Ongoing)Start Date: ASAP We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive school setting in Southampton. This is a full-time, temporary ongoing position, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access learning and reach their full potential.The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted support to pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and learning difficultiesSupport pupils in the classroom, helping them to engage with learning activitiesAssist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategiesPromote positive behaviour and emotional regulationFoster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environmentLiaise effectively with teaching staff and other support professionalsRequirementsExperience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable but care-based also considered)A patient, empathetic, and proactive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to build positive relationships with pupils and staffA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenRelevant qualifications or training in education or ..... full job details .....
