Learning Support Assistant - SEND

We are seeking a calm, compassionate, and highly committed Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil at a welcoming, inclusive, and forward-thinking primary school in Shepton Mallet. With supportive staff, excellent facilities, and a strong community ethos, this school offers an inspiring environment in which to make a real impact. This role centres on delivering consistent, individualised support that empowers the pupil to thrive in a nurturing, secure, and engaging learning environment. Full-time availability is preferred but not essential.Main Responsibilities Provide targeted one-to-one support tailored to the pupil''s individual learning, social, and emotional needs. Build a trusting, positive, and motivational relationship to help the pupil develop confidence and make meaningful progress. Collaborate proactively with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement effective behaviour support and personalised learning strategies. Ensure the pupil always feels heard, understood, respected, and valued. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment where all learners can succeed.What We''re Looking For Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or in a similar support role.
