SEND Learning Support Assistant Location - Cheadle Hulme (Manchester) (SK8) Pay - GBP500-GBP550 per week, depending on experience Start Date - 01/09/2026 Contract Type - Long-Term, Temp to Perm (after 12 weeks) Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant/Support Worker who is confident working with SEN pupils? Prospero Teaching is working with a Special Needs School/College in Stockport who are in need of a Learning Support Assistant from September, the College supports pupils from 4 - 25. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will: Support pupils on 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage in learning and regulate emotions Need to be comfortable providing personal care to pupils Assist in managing challenging behaviour and sometimes high-risk behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies Build strong, professional relationships with pupils Work closely with other staff members, SEN professionals and external agencies to support development Requirements: Experience working with children or young people Experience working with SEN needs such as severe Autism, Complex Learning Needs and Sensory Impairments Experienced providing personal care A calm, patient, and resilient approach with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations. Confidence in setting boundaries and following behaviour management plans consistently. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
