Learning Support Assistant

Reeson Education is looking for an experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs within a mainstream primary school in Wandsworth Town.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them access learning, develop independence and reach their potential.

The successful candidate will work with KS2-aged children with SEN, providing tailored support throughout the school day. Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 pupils with SEN.

• Help children access classroom learning and the wider curriculum.

• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.

• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement.

• Support positive behaviour using appropriate strategies.

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team.

• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.

• Experience working within a primary school is highly desirable.

• Confident supporting KS2-aged pupils with additional needs.

• Patient, calm and nurturing, with a proactive approach.

• Able to build positive and trusting relationships with children.

• Reliable and committed to a full-time position.

• Available to start ASAP.
