Reception Learning Support Assistant - Full Time (Long-Term)

Location: Wandsworth
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (via Reeson Education)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

A supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is seeking an experienced Reception Learning Support Assistant to join their Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis through Reeson Education.

This role will involve providing targeted support to pupils within Reception who have additional needs, requiring a strong understanding of both EYFS development and SEN support strategies. The school has a well-structured Early Years provision and an experienced SEN team in place, offering clear guidance and support.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop early communication skills, and build confidence within a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Supporting Reception pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with early communication, phonics, and play-based learning
  • Implementing EHCP targets and SEN support strategies
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with EYFS children and supporting SEN (essential)
  • Demonstrate a patient, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Be confident supporting speech, language, and early development needs
  • Be proactive and able to use initiative within a structured setting
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

This role is well suited to someone with a passion for Early Years and SEN, looking to make a meaningful impact within a supportive mainstream school.
