Learning support assistant

We are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Gloucester, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning, communication, behavioural and developmental needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop greater confidence, independence and engagement within the school environment.

The role will involve providing 1:1 and small-group support, assisting pupils with classroom activities and helping them access a broad and engaging curriculum. You may support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, complex learning needs and challenging behaviour, adapting your approach to suit individual needs and following established support strategies.

The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, compassionate and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships while maintaining consistent boundaries and expectations. Previous experience within an SEN, specialist or education setting is highly desirable, particularly where candidates have supported pupils with complex needs or behavioural challenges. The role offers the opportunity to become a key part of the school team and make a meaningful difference to pupils'' learning, wellbeing and personal development.
