Learning Support Assistant – Post-16 Setting
Location: Newcastle
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Hours: 4 days per week, 30 hours total
Pay: Competitive rates (depending on experience) £100 Sign-On Bonus (T&Cs apply)

Hello Education are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Post-16 setting from 1st September, on an ongoing basis.

About the Role:
You will play a vital role in supporting learners with additional needs, ensuring they can access education in a safe and supportive environment. This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to learners with SEN or additional needs.

• Understand and address the barriers faced by students in accessing learning.

• Deliver personal care as required.

• Support students with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies.

• Assist in lessons, working closely with teachers and other support staff.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting.

• Experience supporting learners with SEN/Additional Needs.

• Comfortable delivering personal care.

• Good understanding of challenging behaviour and effective management techniques.

• Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

• Moving and Handling training/qualifications.
