We are looking for MAPA-trained Learning Support Assistants to join a well-established, highly supportive team from September on a temp-to-perm basis.The roleProviding 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs and SEMH presentationsUsing MAPA de-escalation and positive handling techniques as part of an agreed behaviour planSupporting pupils with personal care needs as part of the wider care teamAssisting with communication strategies, sensory regulation and access to the curriculumWorking closely with teachers, therapists and family liaison staffWhat we''re looking forCurrent MAPA training (or equivalent recognised positive handling qualification)Experience supporting pupils with autism, complex needs or behaviours that challengePhysical confidence and stamina - the role involves active support, positive handling and moving and handlingResilience, patience and a calm, consistent approachComfortable supporting with personal and intimate careEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What''s on offerGenuine temp-to-perm route with a permanent contract from a strong term''s workFull induction, ongoing CPD and MAPA ..... full job details .....
