About the Role
Tradewind Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting after the October half term.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to students across the school, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and make positive progress. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with relevant experience working with young people who is looking to develop their career within education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, both in and outside of the classroom.
Support students with their learning, helping them to understand and complete tasks.
Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students receive appropriate support and encouragement.
Help students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.
Support students who may have additional learning needs, SEND or other barriers to learning.
Adapt support strategies to meet individual students'' needs.
Assist with classroom activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote students'' social and emotional development.
Monitor students'' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
Job Requirements

Patience, empathy and a calm, supportive approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with students.
A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting different learners.
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
The confidence to support students both independently and as part of a classroom team.
A relevant qualification such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential where suitable experience is demonstrated.
