Learning Support Assistant

Location: Barking and Dagenham
Contract: Full-time | Long-term

A Pupil Referral Unit in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a resilient Learning Support Assistant to work with students who have been excluded from mainstream education. Pupils present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils in small class settings

• Help manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies

• Build trusting relationships to re-engage learners

• Support emotional wellbeing and personal development

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in PRU, SEMH, youth work, or mentoring

• Calm, consistent, and confident personality

• Passion for supporting vulnerable young people
