Progress Teachers are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Sheldon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young people’s education and wellbeing.
The Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a variety of additional needs, including those with SEN and EHCPs. The school has recently welcomed a number of refugee students who will require extra support to integrate and thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students with learning and engagement in lessons.
Assisting with personalised learning plans in line with EHCPs.
Providing additional support for refugee students adjusting to a new school environment.
Supporting with toilet supervision (please note: you will not be required to physically assist students, only observe alongside a full-time staff member).
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting inclusion within the classroom.
