TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming Pupil Referral Unit in Rhondda Cynon Taf that supports both primary and secondary aged pupils. The provision is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where young people can overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes through tailored support and therapeutic approaches.

The Pupil Referral Unit is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional learning needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Emotional Behavioural Disorders (EBD), helping them to engage positively with learning and develop essential social and emotional skills.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN, particularly ASD, SEMH and EBD
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to behaviour management
• Experience working within education, care or support settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
