Learning Mentor

ACE Bretonside is looking for a dedicated, patient and supportive 1:1 Learning Mentor to provide individualised support to learners who may need additional guidance to engage positively with their education and achieve their personal and learning goals. The successful candidate will build positive, trusting relationships with learners, helping them to develop confidence, independence, resilience and the skills they need to make progress. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to understand each learner''s individual needs and provide appropriate support both in and outside of the classroom. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and believes that every learner should have the opportunity to succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide consistent, personalised 1:1 support to an allocated learner. Build a positive, professional and trusting relationship with the learner. Support the learner to engage with lessons, learning activities and the wider college environment. Help learners develop confidence, motivation, independence and self-esteem. Encourage positive behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning. Break down tasks and learning activities into manageable steps where appropriate. Support learners with organisation, time management and study skills. Help learners identify and work towards realistic personal, educational and vocational goals.
