Learning Mentor - Alternative Provision Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Mentor to join our Alternative Provision team in Launceston. In this role, you will work one-on-one with young people experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will deliver tailored learning, build vital core skills, and help restore their confidence in education. Responsibilities: Deliver Community-Based Education: Work out in the local community to create engaging, non-traditional learning environments tailored to the young person''s interests. Core Subject Support: Plan and deliver targeted support for GCSE English and Maths to help students build essential academic foundations. Build Trust and Confidence: Act as a positive role model, using trauma-informed approaches to re-engage young people who have struggled in mainstream settings. Track Progress: Monitor emotional wellbeing, attendance, and academic milestones, adapting your approach as needed. Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours. Education: Strong working knowledge of the GCSE English and Maths curriculum. Driving: Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel is essential.
