      <description>Location: Newham | Salary: &amp;pound;100 - &amp;pound;140/day | Type: Temporary | Learning Mentor / Attendance Officer | Newham | ASAP   Remedy Education are currently looking for an experienced  Learning Mentor / Attendance Officer  to join a supportive school in  Newham, East London .  This is a varied role supporting pupils with their attendance, engagement, behaviour and wellbeing, while working closely with families and school staff to help remove barriers to learning.   The role will include:    Monitoring and improving pupil attendance and punctuality  Following up unexplained and persistent absences  Working closely with pupils and families to identify barriers to attendance  Providing one-to-one mentoring and pastoral support to pupils  Supporting pupils with behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing  Liaising with parents, teachers, safeguarding teams and external professionals  Maintaining accurate attendance and pastoral records  Supporting pupils to re-engage with their education    The ideal candidate will have:    Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Attendance Officer or Pastoral Support Worker  Experience working with children or young people within an education setting  Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills  Good knowledge o...</description>
