Academics Ltd are supporting a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Swindon that is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support students with additional and complex needs. You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping them build confidence, engage with education, and feel safe and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support behaviour management and help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised support strategies.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring setting (desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
• Calm and resilient, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Well-organised and reliable.
• Holds a valid DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one.
