HYBRID ROLE, 2 DAYS IN LONDON OFFICE

Role Purpose


The Skills Trainer will plan, teach, and support apprentices and colleagues to achieve qualifications, improve learner experience, and drive positive outcomes. This includes delivering classroom, online, and workplace-based sessions, both group and 1:1, while ensuring continuous improvement in attendance, retention, and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons, tutorials, and workplace sessions.
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment/exams.
  • Monitor learner progress, set SMART targets, and provide timely feedback.
  • Develop curriculum, assessments, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support learner engagement, safeguarding, equality, and well-being.
  • Ensure accurate administration, reporting, and compliance with policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, OFSTED standards, and professional development.

Success Metrics

  • High standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Enriched learner experience with innovative approaches.
  • Strong learner attendance, retention, and achievement.
  • Effective use of data to identify and support at-risk learners.
  • Compliance with safeguarding, Prevent, and quality frameworks.
  • Delivery of agreed objectives, reports, and audit requirements.

  • Role model with high expectations, able to engage and motivate learners.
  • Skilled in delivering quality teaching in classroom and online settings.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and safeguarding.

Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one).
  • Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Experience or strong vocational knowledge in Housing, Leadership & Management.
  • Strong teaching, assessment, and learner support skills.
  • Knowledge of OFSTED frameworks, apprenticeships, safeguarding, Prevent, and GDPR.
  • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS required.
