Lead Structural Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Structural Engineer to join a leading global defence organisation at their Ampthill site. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly dynamic engineering environment supporting cutting-edge programmes across platform integration, air defence, and advanced weapons systems.This role sits within the Structural Integrity Group and will see you operating as a technical specialist, delivering high-quality structural analysis across a wide range of complex systems.The RoleAs a Structural Integrity Engineer, you will:Develop and validate high-fidelity finite element models across metallic and composite structuresPerform static, dynamic, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analysesConduct damage tolerance and durability assessmentsProduce clear strength summaries, reports, and risk assessments aligned to MoD standardsTranslate analysis outputs into manufacturing and inspection requirementsSupport design reviews, client engagements, and technical auditsDrive continuous improvement through tools, automation, and modelling processesKey RequirementsDegree-qualified (BEng or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringStrong background in structural analysis (5+ years in industry)Proven experience with MSC Nastran and associated pre/post-processing tools (Patran, Simcenter, ANSA, etc.)Solid understanding of linear and non-linear analysis methodsExperience with fatigue, stress analysis, and hand calculationsKnowledge of metallic ..... full job details .....
