The Lead Shift Engineer will oversee the smooth operation of engineering processes within a fast-paced industrial environment. This role requires technical expertise to maintain and improve manufacturing systems in Tamworth.

Description
- Ensure all shift documentation is up to date and accurate including handover
- Levels of 5S are adhered to, both workshop and machines
- Shift KPI''s are maintained and improvement plans in place
- Ensuring the PPM schedule is adhered to.
- Coaching and mentoring team
- Working with Production to fully understand the manufacturing plans and being able to action those plans accordingly.
- Responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts
- Rectifying all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues
- Enhancing, repairing and maintaining all the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and updating the maintenance log
- Assisting with the installation and commission of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers
- Involvement with improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant
- To maintain a relationship with appropriate plant and services contractors/ suppliers and arrange for such suppliers to undertake the engineering works that are required through breakdowns, maintenance and project/ enhancement work
- To organise and maintain the technical database
- Order spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities that will be undertaken in house or by a contracted company
- Work closely with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome
- Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes
- Any other tasks as requested by Management
- Targets: Number of T Cards or equivalent system closed to target, scrap below set target, minimal machine downtime, planned maintenance and project work to be completed in cost and on time.

Profile
You will be an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer/Senior Engineer, from a manufacturing background along with:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Maintenance Engineering (or Apprentice trained mechatronic)
- 18th Edition
- Plan & distribute workload, along with safely lead engineers
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance - hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical & mechanical systems
- Can read electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic drawings
- Understanding of H&S processes and safe methods of working
- A Desirable - Plastic Injection Moulding experience
