This senior actuarial leadership role sits within the Financial Risk Operations team and is responsible for delivering key strategic risk frameworks including the annual ORSA, Recovery and Resolution Plans, and Solvent Exit Planning. The role also supports the maintenance of the Group’s Risk Appetite, Stress and Scenario Testing, and other Line 2 frameworks.You’ll work closely with executive and business leadership, providing technical and people leadership, and influencing decision-making at the highest levels.Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of the annual ORSA, Recovery and Resolution Plans, and Solvent Exit PlanningMaintain and enhance key Line 2 frameworks including Risk Appetite and Stress TestingCollaborate with business and risk teams to ensure credible and realistic recovery planningRun the annual Recovery Plan fire drill with the Executive CommitteeProvide Line 2 opinions on material business decisions, balancing commercial and risk considerationsChampion the Risk Function’s vision and support cultural and operational improvementsManage and develop the team, setting clear goals and KPIs, and fostering a high-performance cultureInfluence executive-level decisions and deliver high-quality reporting with minimal oversightExplore opportunities to enhance risk management through technology and AIEssential Experience and Skills
Qualified Actuary or equivalentDeep understanding of life insurance products (especially BPA and annuities)Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Solvency UK, IFRS 17, UK GAAP)Proven experience delivering ORSA, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Stress Testing, and Solvent Exit PlanningUnderstanding of non-financial risks and operational resilienceExcellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial conceptsAccessibility
